Know more about the Art Form

Horn & Bone Work is a unique art of creating figures and characters by carving into animal bones. These bones are acquired by legal means once the animal is dead. It can result in the ornamentation of a bone, or the creation of an aesthetically pleasing figure as well as utility items. The bones with the toughest make—like the hip and legs—are the ones usually used for handicraft purposes.

This art form has been practised by a variety of world cultures, and since the ban on ivory, it has become a cheaper and legal substitute for it. The animal bone is collected from dead animals once the flesh has decomposed.
